How can one be “committed to pursuing the truth, wherever it leads” yet be a “follower”?

  2. Christy Says:

I’m not sure I understand why you see an apparent contradiction between the two claims.

Pursuing the truth has led me to Jesus as Lord and Savior, and thus, I follow Him. I believe it is more probable than not, after examining the evidence, that He is who He said He is, and it would take more faith to not believe on my part, after reviewing all the evidence and arguments, for and against, but because I am committed to the truth, wherever it leads, should evidence to the contrary surface, calling into question the weight of evidence that He did rise from the dead, then I would be forced to abandon following Him if I’m to be intellectually honest.

Just wanted to say I really appreciate the blog - refreshingly honest and rich with insights we can so easily overlook or mis-place. Really loved the ‘brown paper napkin theology’ entry - it’s important.

    Regards from England,

    Howard.
